The Universal Connectivity System™ 2900 and its built-in control system, TSS™, provides interactive path control that assists network operators and managers in path configuration, routing, monitoring and troubleshooting.
The Microsoft® Windows®-based TSS enables switch operators to efficiently track port-to-port path connectivity and equipment usage and to link resources in real time. All paths are color-coded to alert operators of equipment and path status throughout the network.
The TSS control system performs fault detection by defining alarm conditions (e.g., loss of light, loss of connectivity) on individual path links or groups of links. All alarms are routed to network operators in real time to determine fault isolation and resolution. The TSS path control provides the ability to test and monitor without physically moving equipment or cables.
With TSS, you can:
Reduce remote network site operation costs through centralized, automated path management
Increase path uptime through proactive path monitoring and automated test/monitor access
Reduce operations and maintenance costs associated with planning, configuring and monitoring paths
Automate internal rerouting if a path is deemed degraded or bad by continuous internal diagnostics and analysis
Ensure full path redundancy through enhanced diagnostic tools
Ensure robust security through individual login accounts that map to access of certain ports and other security capabilities within TSS
Use comprehensive system logs to help analyze and track all events that pertain to system and user intervention
