PORT SCALABILITY

Both the 3900 and 2900 platforms are designed with our patented 3-stage switching architecture, which includes switching on the individual blades, as well as the central switch connected through an orthogonal interconnect.

Each switching blade can individually switch connections or packet flows across any of the ports in that same blade. The system can be populated in-service with additional blades, either individually or in large groups, to scale as your requirements grow. Each blade can also switch any of the connections into the central switch fabric, which enables connectivity across any other blade in the system.

In addition, the central switch cards are fully redundant and hot-swappable. Connections can switch to alternate backplane paths in the event of one switch failure.  This is a unique ONPATH capability and allows our technology to be used in production networks.

 LAYER 1-4 INTEGRATION

ONPATH offers the most scalable switch platform on the planet, integrating the OSI networking Layers 1-4 in a single system. This integration is ideally suited to improve the utilization metrics and reporting that are helpful in Test Automation applications.

ONPATH offers the lowest and most consistent industry latency, ranging from 100 nsec at the physical layer to 300 nSec at Layer 2 and above. This is ideal for multi-cast and line-rate switching requirements. Simple filtering and aggregation features provide the ability to expand the monitoring points and better utilize existing tools. Flexible load balancing provides relief for tools that need to share high-speed network inputs or packet flows.

It is critical to have a scalable software architecture to centralize visibility in a simple and secure way for use throughout the Enterprise. As monitoring and test tools expand across departments and locations, ONPATH's HorizON software provides easy packet flow management and simple drag and drop connections from any local or remote location.

Utilization and packet flow statistics can also be tracked when connected into our system. Our open API is specifically designed for 3rd party integration of other software and systems. As a result, ONPATH HorizON software is the most intelligent, simple, and secure software in the industry.
